TITLE: Hygiene Consultant

REPORTS TO:  Hygiene Program Director: Noura Benrahou, CRDH BS

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hygiene Consultant role will coach the hygiene staff in and outside of the clinic setting. Their main objective is to carry out, implement and evaluate practice expectations according to the Aligned Dental Partners Hygiene Program curriculum.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Training on the methods and techniques used in dental hygiene.
  • Training on terminology, materials, and methods used in public health dentistry.
  • Knowledge of state-specific practices regarding duties that may be performed by a dental hygienist.
  • Work with the Practice Administrators to ensure all hygiene staff is appropriately trained, assessed, and prepared to deliver dental care and services.
  • Ensure all hygienists are trained and are performing according to regulatory and accreditation standards and practice policies.
  • Responsible for daily hygiene production including double booking, SRPs, and the speed and efficiency of the hygienists.
  • Keeping track of hygiene templates and monthly goals.
  • Act as the liaison between internal and external clinical and community health programs.
  • Skill in establishing working relationships in a team setting involving oral care providers, clients, parents, school officials, and community leaders.
  • Create a positive, productive workplace culture. Provide leadership and direction to the hygiene team.
  • Develop and inspire a highly effective team.
  • Ensure all staff is properly coached and directed. Clearly defined measurements of performance are utilized to enhance individuals and organizational effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of the dental hygiene program
  • State Hygiene License
  • Previous Management experience
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Information technology skills such as Excel, Microsoft Word, and Powerpoint.
