Job Overview:

The Director of Operations will plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the Columbia, SC region. They are responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of the practice administrators regarding all office issues, Doctor, clinical and administrative performance.
  • Review and approve changes to all Doctor templates based on production needs. Approve training sessions for clinical staff as needed. Review schedules for each office weekly to monitor patient volume and allocate additional staff as needed.
  • Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Oversee all schedules for administrative and clinical staff (Doctors, dental assistants and all administrative). Approve time off requests and find replacement for staff regarding vacation, sick time and call offs.
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in the delivery of dental services. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage maintenance of tools and equipment. Provide technical support where necessary.
  • Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
  • Liaise with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.

Minimum Requirements

  • College degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology or industrial engineering
  • Industry relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
